Chapter 2 Preparations
Installing outer rails
Attach the rail assemblies you previously removed.
Fit the square-shaped protrusions of the rail assembly to
the square holes of a 19-inch rack. Make sure that it
makes a clicking sound indicating that it is locked.
The image on the right shows the front right side (front)
of the rack. Install to the rear right side and front and
rear left sides following the same procedure.
Make sure that the rail assembly is installed at the same
height as the other slide rail assemblies already
installed.

Confirm that the rail assemblies are securely locked so that they will not fall
off.
Tips
Although the rail assembly may be somewhat unsteady, it is not defective.
Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server safely. Failure to
observe the precautions may cause burns, injury, and property damage. For
details, refer to Safety precautions in Precautions for Use.
• Do not attempt to lift the server with a single person.
• Do not drop.
• Do not leave the server being pulled out.
• Do not install with the cover removed.
• Do not get your fingers caught.
