Generate dynamic system names
When enabled, this feature replaces the system name with a dynamically generated value
containing the following information:
System name of the neighboring device to which the port is connected, obtained via the
System Name TLV. Since this is an optional TLV, if it is not available, the Chassis ID TLV is
used instead.
Port description of the port on the neighboring device to which the local port is
connected, obtained via the Port Description TLV. Since this is an optional TLV, if it is not
available, the Port ID TLV is used instead.
Controller name suffix (if specified). Up to 16 characters can be appended to the name.
To define the suffix for APs, select Configuration > LLDP.
To create the system name, the items are concatenated using a hyphen as separator. For
example:
systemname-portid-suffix
Note
Once AP names are dynamically changed by this feature, there is no way to return to the old
AP names.

TLV settings

To customize TLV settings, select Configure TLVs on the Network > Discovery protocols
page.
