The field Select switch operation mode:< > can be toggled
using the space bar to one of the two switch operation modes:
Layer 2 Only, Support IEEE 802.1Q VLANs and IP Routing,
Support IEEE 802.1Q VLANs.
To make a change in the operation mode of the switch effective,
highlight APPLY and press enter.

Type y and press Enter. The switch will then save the changes
made during the current session and reboot. The switch must be
rebooted to change the operation mode.
Switch Settings – IP Routing Mode
Once the switch is configured for IP Routing (Layer 3 Switching),
and rebooted, the Switch Settings menu adds some functions
compared to the Layer 2 Only mode (figure 6-21 and 6-22, below).
