5 Connect the PC Card cable to the network port.
If your network uses unshielded twisted pair (UTP)
cabling, attach the RJ-45 (8-pin modular) connector
on the 3C389 PC Card cable (P/N 38H7044) to the
RJ-45 network port (Figure 2-3).

If your network uses shielded twisted pair (STP)
cabling, attach the RJ-45 connector on the 3C389
PC Card cable (P/N 38H7044) to the RJ-45 end of
the STP connector (P/N 73G8315). Attach the STP
connector to the STP network port (Figure 2-4).
The STP connector has been specifically designed to
work with the 3C389 PC Card.
