Main Components
Installation and Upgrade Wizards
Avaya Integrated Management offers a set of WEB-based wizards to streamline the installation and
upgrade processes.
Avaya Installation Wizard
Media Servers and firmware on the G350 and G700 Media Gateways. The Installation Wizard can also be
used to install software patches and configure the media servers. For G700/S8300, it can install basic
telephony translations and configure trunking parameters and trunk diagnostics.
A pre-installation worksheet (an Excel spreadsheet) is filled in with the customer's configuration
information before going to the customer site. During the installation or upgrade, the Installation Wizard
reads in the contents of the worksheet from the technician's laptop. Use of this worksheet greatly
increases the accuracy of the data-entry process and reduces on-site time.
Gateway Installation Wizard
G700 that does not contain an S8300. The Gateway Installation Wizard, running on the technician's
laptop, configures the IP addresses of the gateway's processors and controller list.
Upgrade Tool
geographically-distributed LSPs and media gateways.
Avaya Station Administration Wizard
station adds, moves, and changes.
Maintenance Web Interface
The Web browser-based tool on the S8300 Media Server uses a Graphical User Interface (GUI) interface
to perform server administration tasks such as:
Backups and restores for customer data.
Perform software/firmware installations and upgrades.
Perform server configuration.
An easy access to view current alarms.
The ability to perform server maintenance including busy out and release busy out of the S8300
Media Server, shutdown of the S8300 Media Server, and status of the S8300 Media Server.
Security commands that will enable and disable the modem, start and stop FTP server, and view
the license.
SNMP access to configure trap destinations, stop and start the master agent.
The Web interface contains an extensive help system that describes all the Web screens and Media Server
procedures.
Native Configuration Manager
