ECM ON/OFF
What does ECM mean?
The Minoltafax 1400 transmits data in the ITU-T ECM (= Error Correction
Mode). This is the communication standard for fax machines of group 3
(G3). With this procedure lost data parts are sent repeatedly enabling the
transmission error rate to be reduced considerably.
The transmission time is increased when the ECM is switched on.
However, less time is required in total than it would take if one page would
have to be transmitted once more.
ECM permanently ON/OFF
How to select a permanent ECM setting.

Press the [MENU] key eight times.
Confirm your choice by pressing the
[SET] key.

Press the [MENU] key twice.
Confirm your choice by pressing the
[SET] key.

Press the numerical keys [2] and [4]
for software switch-24 ON. Confirm
your entry by pressing the [SET]
key.

Make your input via the following
numerical keys as indicated below:

00 (OFF)
❍
01 (ON)
❍
02 (NOT RETURN)

Press the [SET] key.
The setting is stored.
Press the [STOP] key twice in order

to return to the standard display.
