7.3 Accessing from Web Browsers

In addition to the administration homepage, the NAS server provides the user homepage for
normal users to access data in the server. With a web browser, users can download files,
create folders, upload files and modify ACL. To enable user access from web, please follow the
steps.
1. Enable the user homepage.
Open the administration page and enter the "Network → Web" menu. Check the "Enable
Web Data Access" check-box. Specify whether to allow local accounts only or allow both
local and domain accounts to access the user page. Check other parameters and click
"Apply".
2. Create local user accounts or retrieve domain accounts from the domain controller,
depending on whether the NAS server is in the workgroup mode or the domain mode.
3. Share the volume to network users.
Go to the "Security → File/Folder" menu. Find the "volume01" entry and click "Create" in the
"Sharing" column (or click "Modify" if the volume has been shared). On the "Property" page,
check the "Web Access" (HTTP) check-box and click "Apply".
4. Set the share permissions.
After sharing the volume, click the "Share Permissions" tab to specify the access rights of
local users/groups and domain users/groups.
Now users can run the web browser and open the IP address of 192.168.0.100 to browse the
