Besides curl, the film should also be checked for twist. To make sure
that the film's twist is within allowable limits:
Film twist
90° maximum
(either direction)
Allow about 12 in. (305 mm) of film to hang down from the reel.
If the film twists more than 90° in either direction, a leader should be
attached.
