1. Pour Teco-Sil between the left and right base refracto-
ries as shown in Figure 14.4.

2. Using a high temperature black paint, fog the Teco-Sil
to the desired look. See below for fogging tips.
Fogging Tips
• Apply paint with the ember lights turned on. This will help
you avoid over fogging or under fogging.
• Reduce the lighting in the room while applying the paint.
• Fog the Teco-Sil to create a realistic coal bed appear-
ance.
