The ActiveSync® program on the computer may be affected by the Microsoft
Windows XP Service Pack 2 built-in firewall or some anti-virus software, causing
problems when establishing the sync connection between the phone and the com-
puter. You can try turning off the Windows® built-in firewall or anti-virus software to
resolve the connection issues.
Windows Firewall
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 built-in firewall may cause prob-
lems when establishing an ActiveSync connection between the phone and the
computer. If your phone cannot properly connect to the computer, and the Windows
XP firewall is activated, we recommend that you set ActiveSync as an exception in
the built-in firewall. You may also turn off the firewall function, and then re-establish
the ActiveSync connection.
Anti-virus software
- Some anti-virus software may cause problems when establish-
ing an ActiveSync connection between the phone and the computer. If your phone
cannot properly establish a connection with the computer, and the Windows built-in
firewall has not been activated, we recommend that you refer to the anti-virus soft-
ware user's manual to turn off the anti-virus memory scanning process or remove
the anti-virus software, and then re-establish the ActiveSync connection.
