are not responding correctly, or new programs are installed, soft reset
is required. Unsaved data will be lost after performing Soft Reset, but
saved information will remain unchanged.
Restoring the default value (Hard Reset) will clear all information from
the phone memory. After system restarts, the device will restore the set-
tings to the factory defaults. All personal information such as contacts,
tasks, calendar appointments, as well as additional installed programs
and configurations will be lost. You can sync the data to a personal com-
puter prior to restoring to the default settings to avoid data loss. When
the phone malfunctions due to an error, you can try restoring the fac-
tory default values. For data synchronization, please refer to Chapter 6
Synchronizing Your Phone. When the system is unable to startup, you
can try using the hard reset function to restore it to the default settings.
