9.4 Initial Connection

When you connect the phone and a computer via USB cable or Bluetooth for the first time,
the ActiveSync
device is already connected to the computer. It will then execute the sync configuration wizard
to create an ActiveSync
connection, you must make sure the phone is powered on and connected to the computer with
the transfer cable. To obtain a connection through Bluetooth, please refer to section 9.7.
Since using firewall software causes inoperability issues with ActiveSync, it may prevent the
computer and handset from connecting. Please use one of the following methods to solve this
issue:
• Refer to 9.1 to add ActiveSync to the excluded list of the firewall
• Refer to 9.1 to disable "Advanced Network Connections" on the handset
• Ask your firewall software provider for ActiveSync connection solutions.
