06 Starting and driving
Stability and traction control system*
Messages on the display
ANTI-SKID TEMPORARILY OFF
that the system has been temporarily reduced
due to excessive brake temperature.
The function is reactivated automatically
when the brakes have cooled.
ANTI-SKID SERVICE REQUIRED
disabled due to a fault.
Stop the car in a safe place and turn off
the engine.
> If the message remains when the
engine is restarted, drive to a work-
shop. An authorised Volvo workshop is
recommended.

engine is started

Indicates a fault in the DSTC system.
1. Stop the car in a safe place and turn off
the engine.

2. Restart the engine.
If the warning symbol goes out, the fault
was temporary and it is not necessary to
visit a workshop.
If the warning symbol remains illuminated
then a workshop should check the sys-
tem - an authorised Volvo workshop is
recommended.

Indicates that the system has been tem-
porarily reduced due to excessive brake
temperature.
Automatic reactivation of the function takes
place when the brake temperature has
returned to normal.

WARNING
Under normal driving conditions, the
DSTC system improves the car's road
safety, but this should not be taken as a
reason to increase speed.
Always follow the usual precautions for
safe cornering and driving on slippery road
surfaces.
