Removing the air filter

Note
Engine failure Unfiltered intake air has a negative effect on the service life of the engine.
Never ride the vehicle without an air filter since dust and dirt can get into the engine and result in increased wear.
Warning
Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Cleaning the air filter and air filter box

Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Do not clean the air filter with fuel or petroleum since these substances attack the foam.
Condition
The air filter box lid is secured.
Mount and tighten screws

Preparatory work
Remove the air filter box lid. (
Main work
Detach air filter holder
filter with the air filter support.
Remove the air filter from the air filter support.

Wash the air filter thoroughly in special cleaning liquid and allow it to dry properly.

Only squeeze the air filter to dry it; never wring it out.
Oil the dry air filter with a high quality filter oil.
Oil for foam air filter (

Clean the air filter box.
Clean the intake flange and check it for damage and tightness.
Finishing work
Install the air filter.
