Electric pow er w indow s

Open and close w indow s
From ignition key position 1:
> Press the sw itch until you feel resis-
tance:
The w indow continues to move as
long as you continue to hold the
sw itch.
> Press the sw itch beyond the resis-
tance point:
The w indow moves dow nw ard auto-
m atically. Touch the sw itch again to
stop the opening movement.
You can close the w indow s in the sam e
m anner by pulling the sw itch.
After the ignition has been sw itched off:
> You can still operate the w indow s as
long as neither of the front doors has
been opened. To open the w indow s,
press the sw itch beyond the resis-
tance point.
Remove the key from the ignition
w hen you leave the vehicle so that
children cannot operate the pow er
w indow s and possibly injure them -
selves.<

Safety feature
A contact strip is integrated into the
inner side of each of the upper w indow
frame sections. If pressure is exerted
against this contact strip w hile a
w indow is being raised, the system w ill
respond by stopping the w indow and
then retracting it a sm all distance.
Despite this safety feature, be
extrem ely careful that the closing
path of the w indow is not obstructed
w henever it is closed. Otherw ise, an
object m ight not touch the contact strip
in som e situations (w ith very thin
objects, for instance).
You can override this safety feature by
pulling the sw itch beyond the resis-
tance point and holding it.
Because the pow er w indow s are sealed
at high pressure to prevent w ind noise
w hen closed, a pow erful m otor is
required for efficient closing. When
closing the w indow s, alw ays ensure
that they are not obstructed in any w ay.
Unsupervised use of these system s can
result in serious personal injury.
Rem ove the ignition key to deactivate
the electric pow er w indow s w henever
you leave the vehicle. Never leave the
keys in the vehicle w ith unsupervised
children. Never place anything that
could obstruct the driver's vision on or
next to the w indow
s.<
