This section describes how to restore raw (full VM) sessions to ESX Server

3.0.x and ESX Server 3.5 systems.

When the operating system that is running on the VM is not a VMware-

supported Windows-based operating system, you must perform a raw (full VM)

level backup of a VM. You can use this type of restore operation for disaster

recovery.

When you restore raw (full VM) level backup data, consider the following:

To restore data that was backed up using the Agent for VMware, the

current version of the Client Agent for Windows must be installed on the

destination system.

■

You can view raw (full VM) level backup sessions in a directory tree

structure at the VM level and perform a full VM restore to an alternate

location.
