Toreplace the belt followtheseinstructions andreferto Figure 18:

Routethe beltaroundthe drivepulleyandunderthe idlerpulley.
2.
Routethe endofthe beltaroundthe augerpulleyandslidethe pulleyback
onto the augershaft.It maybenecessary t o pushdown onthe idler pulley
to get the augerpulleyunderthe beltkeeper.
3.
Replace t he flangenut andtighten securely.
4.
Reinstall the belt coverremoved earlier.
5.
Remove t he boardfromthe augerandchute.
Replacing AugerPaddles
Thesnowthrowerauger's rubberpaddles aresubjectto wearandshouldbe
replaced if anysignsofexcessive w eararepresent.
DoNOT allowthe auger'srubberpaddlesto wearto the point where
portionsof the metal augeritselfcancomein contactwith the pavement.
Doingsocan result in seriousdamageto your snowthrower.
Tochange the rubberpaddles, p roceed asfollowsandreferto Figure 19:

Run the snowthroweruntilthe fuel tankisempty.
2.
Pullthe recoil s tarterhandleuntil resistance i sfelt. Thentip the snow
throwerbackuntil it restson the handles.
3.
Remove t he existingrubberpaddles byunthreading the hexwasher screws
whichsecure themto the auger. S eeFigure 19.
NOTE: Theaugerpaddles shouldbereplaced oneat atime sothat the
augerpaddlestillattachedcanbe usedasanexample for positioning and
re-installing the newauger.
4.
Secure the replacement rubberpaddles to the augerusingthe hardware
removed earlier.
Toobtaina fullaugerreplacement k it includingrubberpaddles andhexwasher
screws, m aybeobtained throughSears Parts & Repair or bycalling1-800-659-5917.
Askfor part 753-06469.
Reversing o r Replacing ShavePlate
Theshaveplateisattached to the bottomofthe augerhousing andissubjectto
wear.It shouldbe checked p eriodically. T here aretwo wearingedges andthe shave
platecanbe reversed.
1.
Run the snowthroweruntilthe fuel tankisempty.
2.
Pullthe recoil s tarterhandleuntil resistance i sfelt. Thentip the snow
throwerbackuntil it restson the handles.
3.
Remove t he fourcarriage boltsandflangelocknutswhichattachit to the
snowthrowerhousing. R eferto Figure 14on page14.
4.
Reverse t he existingshave plateor installanewone,makingsurethe new
shaveplateandthe heads of thecarriage boltsareonthe insideof the
housing.
5.
Adjustthe shave plateasinstructed on page14.
6.
Tightensecurely onceadjusted.
