The top position Is only a guide.
It cannot be used as a rack position.

POSITIONS
THAT MAY BE USED
DURING BAKING OR ROASTING.
Place pans on the oven racks with 1" to I 1/2" of air
space on all sides of each pan. Avoid overcrowding
the oven.
When baking several Items, stagger pens so that no
pan Is directly above another.
Pans too close to each other, to oven walls or to the
oven bottom block the free movement of air. Improper
air movement causes uneven browning and cooking.
To bake 4 layers of cake at a time, place 2 layers on
the flat rack In position 1 and 2 layers on the flat rack
In position 3, with the pans staggered so that one Is
not directly above the other.
