The phones can connect to application servers that
contain the signaling stacks and GUI. There are two
entries to increase the reliability. Please use the value
127.0.0.1 if the local (no server) phone software
should be used. This parameter is very useful if
software version are needed that can debug H.323
traces which would not fit on to the phone.
By specifying a second server the reliability can be
increased significantly.
DNS Domain
The DNS domain is programmed here and used by the
resolver (e.g. snom.com).
DNS Server 1, DNS Server 2
Specify the primary and secondary DNS server in this
field (e.g. 192.168.0.9)
TFTP server
Store the IP address of the TFTP server here. The
phone can use it to save files on it and the phones
retrieve the flash updates from here.
TFTP
TIP
TFTP is a trivial file transport protocol. It is
based on UDP and has a very simple
message format. Since it is very easy to
implement a lot of hardware vendors use it
to load configuration files.
The snom 100 uses it to load flash updates
and to save settings. Ensure that the snom
100 has access to a TFTP server to utilize its
whole potential.
