    H.323 Most Gatekeepers can be discovered automatically by the snom 100. You may only need to set your phone number. (With some gatekeepers you do not have to set even this.) Go to the “Settings/H323/ E164 Number” and enter your phone number.

So different people can initiate calls from the same phone with their own identity and the called phone only displays this current outgoing line information of the caller.

    A N U A L User Mode/Administrator Mode If the snom menu item ‘User Mode’ is chosen, the phone changes to user mode. This means that only base settings and settings for redirecting the phone are available for the user. This is meant to restrict the user from unintentionally misconfi guring the phone.

    This feature in H323 is optional so it can be ignored by an endpoint not supporting this feature, hence making the snom phone revert to the normal H245 signalling on a separate channel. Note that if Fast Start is being used, Out of band DTMF might not work because the DTMF info is relayed on the H245 channel.

    Codecs and DTMF Packet Size The snom 100 converts speech into data packets. With this setting the payload size of the packets can be set in terms of milliseconds. 80 (10 ms), 160 (20 ms), 240 (30 ms) and 320 (40 ms) bytes are available. This affects only ulaw and alaw codecs (other codecs have fi xed packet size).

    MAC Address This is the identity of the ethernet interface and is unique to each snom 100. This value cannot be changed. Press the menu key in the idle state and select the submenu “Settings / Network / Base / Identity / MAC Adr”.
