■ Setting a frequency

ï Using keypad
q Push [PWR] for 2 sec. to turn power ON, then push
[CLR• ] to select the frequency mode when memory

w Push 5 appropriate digit keys to input the frequency.
• Push [1• ] as the 1st digit.

BASIC OPERATION

■ Setting a squelch level

The transceiver has a noise squelch circuit to mute unde-
sired noise while receiving no signal.
q Push [SQL• ], then rotate [DIAL] to select the
WX-ALERT
squelch level.
• 'SQL--0' is open squelch and 'SQL--24' is tight squelch.
• " " appears while the squelch is open.
w Push [SQL• ] or [CLR•

■ Selecting a weather channel

(U.S.A. version only)
The U.S.A. version has VHF marine WX (weather) channel
receiving capability for flight planning.
q Push , then push [ENT•

sired WX channel.
e Push [CLR• ] to exit the WX
