Measurement with Shunt

Figure 5-9 illustrates the connections for a 3-phase measurement using a shunt. The
connecting leads to the shunts should be as short as possible in order to prevent noise
voltages.
To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury:

Do not touch sense terminals. The sense terminals at the
shunts are powered with the same voltage as the power
connections.
Shunts are not isolated. Never touch the sense terminals at
the shunts.
Do not touch connections, internal circuits, and measuring
devices that are not connected to earth ground.
Always adhere to the instructions regarding the sequence of
connection (see Chapter 5, "Connecting Sequence").
