To Engage Augers
1, Toengagethe augersand start throwingsnow,squeezethe auger
controlagainstthe left handle,Rebase to stop the augers,
Auger ControJ Test
Performthe followingtestbeforeoperatingyoursnowthrowerfor the
firsttime and at thestart of eachwinter,
Checkthe adiustmentof the augercontrol as follows:
1, Whentheauger controlis rebased and in the disengaged"up"
position,the eabb shouldhavevery little slack, JtshouldNOT be
tight,
2, Jna weBventilatedarea,start the snowthrowerengineas
instructedearlbr in this section, Makesure thethrottb is set in the
FASTposition,
3, Whilestandingin the operator'sposition(behindthe snowthrower),
engagetheauger,
4, Allowthe augerto remainengagedfor approximately ten (10)
secondsbeforereleasingthe auger controkRepeatthis several
times,
5, With thethrottb control in the FAST(rabbit)position andthe auger
controlin thedisengaged"up"position,walk to the frontof the
machine,
6, Confirmthat the auger hascompletelystoppedrotatingand shows
NO signsof motion,If the auger showsANYsigns of rotating,im-
mediatelyreturnto the operator'spositionand shut off the engine,
Waitfor ALL movingparts to stop beforere-adiusting the auger
control
7, Toreadiustthecontrol cable,loosenthe upperhex nuton the
augercabb bracket,
8, Positionthebracketupwardto providemoreslack(or downward to
increasecabb tension),See Figure2,
9, Retightenthe upper hexnut,
10,RepeatAuger Control Testto verifyproperadiustmenthasbeen
achieved,
