Skid Shoe Adjustment
Thespace betweenthe skid shoesand thegroundcan be adiusted,
,
Forclose snow removalon a smoothsurface,raiseskid shoeson
the augerhousing,
,
Forsnow removalon a roughsurfacesuch as a graveldriveway,
lowerthe skid shoeson the auger housing.
Toadiustthe skid shoes:
1. Race a blockof wood (2 x 4) beneaththe shave plateto
temporarilyraisethe snowthrower'saugerhousingoff the ground.
2. Loosenthe four hexnuts (two on eachside) and carriagebolts.
Moveskid shoes todesiredposition.See Figure11.
3. Retightennutsand boltssecurely.
4. Carefullyremovethe woodNeck. Makecertain theentire bottom
surfaceof skid shoe is againstthe groundto avoidunevenwearon
the skid shoes.Readiustif necessary.

if the spiralat the bottomof the chute directionalcontrolis not fully
engagingwith the chuteassembly,thechute bracketcan be adiusted.
Todo so:
1. loosenthe two nutswhich securethe chutebracketand reposition
it slightly.See Figure12.
2. Retighteningthenuts.
Shift
Cable
If the fullrange of speeds(forwardand reverse)cannot be achieved,
referto the figuresto the rightand adiust the shiftcane as follows:
1. Race theshift leverin thefastest forwardspeed position.
2. Loosenthe hex nuton the shiftcane indexbracket.See Figure13.
3. Pivotthe bracketdownwardto take up slack in the cane.
4. Retightenthe hex nut.
Tire
Pressure
Beforeoperating,checktire pressureand reducepressure to between
15 psi and 20 psi.
if the tirepressureis not equalin bothtires,the unit may pullto one
sideor the other.
