Zigzag Stitches (Continued)
• Sew a Button
Use the darning plate for button sewing (see p. 44 ),
1. Set the stitch selector at "" ; ""
2. Align both holes of the button with the slot of the toot and place the left hole of
the button iust below the needle poinL
3. Lower the foot and turn the stitch selector to zigzag until the needle point comes
iust above the right hole of the button.
4. Sew about five stitches and raise needle.
5. Set the stitch at ¢I_ again and sew a few stitches to lock thread.

To strengthen the shank, cut the
threads leaving a 20 cm (8 °') tail Bring
the needle thread down through the
hole in the button and wind it around the
shank.
Draw the thread to the bottom side
and knot.

1. Rdglez te sdlecteur de potnta

2. Alignez tes deter trous du bouton avec [a fente du pied et ptacez te trot€ de
gauche du botlton directement sous l' aiguille.
3. Abatssez le pied et r_glez le sglecteur de point a la positron ztgzag pour que
l"atguille se d_ptace directement au-dessus du trou de droit¢ du bouton.
4. Fattes envwon cinq pzqgtres, pms fattes remonter I'atguille.
5. R@lez a nouveau le sdlecteur de point d la postttou (( c[_ >> et faites quelques
piqares pour arrYter le fil.
Pour ten forcer ta tige, coupez les ills
en Imssant d chacun une sectton de 8
po, (20 cmL Glissez le fil d'atguitle
dans un trou et entourez la queue.
Passez te fil sous !e tissu et nouez-te,
