2 Usethe numeric buttons to select the desired
item.
• To select a number between 1 and 10:
Press the corresponding button for the number.
• To select a number higher than 10:
Use the +10 button.
Examples:
To select 13: +10 --> 3
To select 34: +10 --> +10 --> +10 --> 4
To select 40: +10 --> +10 --> +10 --> 10
The unit starts playback of the selected item.
You can return to the menu by pressing the
RETURN button.
When something like "NEXT" or "PREVIOUS"
appears on the TV screen, the unit generally works
as follows:
• Pressing _1 advances to the next page.
• Pressing _ returns to the previous page.
* The method of the operation is different
depending on the disc.
• If you want to playback a PBe-compatible Video CD/SVCD
disc without activating the PBCfunction, start playback by
using the numeric buttons instead of I_. (See page 19.)
• To activate the PBC function when a PBC-compatible Video
CD/SVCD disc is being played back without the PBC
function, carry out any of the followings:
* Press TOP MENU or MENU.
* Press • to stop playback, then Press I_.
Available :
While playing back a DVD VIDEO disc with more than
one title, you can specify a desired title to be played
using the numeric buttons.

1 Press TITLE/GROUP.

window.

2 Use the numeric buttons to specify a title to be
played.
• To select a number between 1 and 10:

The unit starts playback from the specified title.
NOTE
• Some DVD VIDEO discs may not accept this function
because of disc contents.
Available :
You can play a disc from the desired position by
specifying the elapsed time from the beginning of the
current title (for DVD VIDEO), or the disc (for Audio CD/
Video CD/SVCD) using the time search function.
Note that some DVD VIDEO discs do not contain time
information, and the time search function cannot be
used.
