volumes and asked which volume should be left offline. This can be confusing and is prone
to error.
If the Continuous Access Journal Z secondary data volumes and primary data volumes are
connected to the same host(s), HP strongly recommend that the secondary data volumes are
defined to remain offline to avoid this problem.
To delete a pair or pairs
1.
In Remote Web Console, select Actions > Remote Copy > Continuous Access Journal Z > Pair
Operation.

Click
to change the mode from View to Modify.
3.
In the tree, a CU group number or CU image number for the pair. Associated pairs display
in the right-side list area.
4.
In the list, select the pair or pairs that you want to delete, right-click, and select Delete Pair
from the menu. The Delete Pair dialog box displays.

From the Range list, select one of the following. Note that the Range list is disabled if a pair's
status is Simplex; In this case, Range is automatically set to Volume. If a pair's status is Deleting
or Suspending, Range is automatically set to Mirror.
Volume, to resync only the selected pair or pairs. If deleting multiple selected pairs, they
must be in the same mirror. Review the Force option for the Delete Mode field when
specifying Range as Volume.
Mirror, (default) to resync all pairs in the same mirror(s) as the selected pairs.
CAUTION:
during disaster recovery.

From the Delete Mode list, select one of the following:
Normal, to delete the pair or pairs only if the primary system is able to change the pair
status of both P-VOL and S-VOL to Simplex.
Force, to forcibly delete the pair or pairs, even when the primary system is unable to
communicate with the secondary system. This option could be used, for example, when
the primary system is unable to communicate with the secondary system. Specifying Force
would thus allow host operations to continue.
If Force is specified when pair status is other than Simplex, Range is automatically set to
Mirror.
If Force is specified when Range is set to Volume, the other pairs in the same journal are
also suspended.
7.
Click Set.
