About this guide

This guide provides information about installing, configuring, and using the MSA1510i.

Intended audience

This guide is intended for network administrators and storage managers with moderate or advanced
knowledge of IP and storage networks.

Prerequisites

The following are prerequisites for installing or using this product:
• Determine who will install and configure your system.
A moderate level of knowledge about storage systems, Storage Area Networks (SANs), and
IP networks is required to install and manage this storage system. If you are not familiar with
installing and configuring storage systems or IP networks, HP can install your MSA1510i. For more
information, see
• Use the MSA1510i installation and configuration roadmap, v2.0 to guide you through the
process of installing and configuring the MSA1510i. This document is available on the MSA1510i
Software CD.
• Record system information on the checklist of the MSA1510i installation and configuration
roadmap or on the more detailed worksheets at the back of this guide.
• Read the Compatibility guide to verify support for the operating system and network hardware
components.
