slideshow playback, adjust the headphones
volume the same w ay you adjust the
speaker's volume (C_ 45).
O IMPORTANT
* When using h eadphones, make sure t olower the volume toanappro-
priate level.
* Do not c onnect the headphones tothe AV OUT/C) terminal ifthe C_
icon d oes n ot a ppear on the screen. The n oise output insuch c ase m ay
beharmful toyour hearing.

* Use commercially available headphones with aQ3.5 mm minijack.
* Even if[AV/Headphones] was s et t o[('}Headphones] inaplayback
mode, the function ofthe AV OUT/_) terminal will r eturn automatically to
AV output when y ou set t he camcorder toarecording mode.
* If[AV/Headphones] was s et t o[OHeadphones] in mode, the
camcorder retains the terminal's setting even i fyou set t he camcorder
to_ mode.
Using an External Microphone
When recording in very quiet surroundings, the built-in microphone
may pick up the sound of the camcorder's internal machinery. In such
case, we recommend using an external microphone.

the MIC terminal.
Use commercially available condenser
microphones with their own power
supply. You can connect almost any
stereo microphone with a _ 3.5 mm
plug but audio recording levels may
vary.
