20Objects and Liquid Entry --Never push objects of a ny kind into this p roduct through
openings as t hey may touch dangerous voltage points or s hort out parts that could result in a
fire o r e lectric shock. Be c areful not to spill liquid of a ny kind onto the p roduct.
21Servicing --Do n ot attempt to service this product yourself as o pening or r emoving covers
may expose you to dangerous voltage or o ther hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified
service personnel.
22Power Sources --The CA-590 Compact Power Adapter should be operated only from t he
type of p ower source indicated on the m arking label. Ifyou are n ot sure of t he t ype of p ower
supply to your home, consult your product dealer or l ocal power company. Regarding other
power sources such as battery power, refer to instructions in this m anual.
23Lightning --For added protection of t his product during a lightning storm, or w hen itis left
unattended and unused for long periods of t ime, disconnect itfrom t he w all outlet and
disconnect the a ntenna. This will prevent damage to the p roduct due to lightning and power-
line s urges.
24Overloading --Do n ot overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result ina risk of
fire o r e lectric shock.
25Damage Requiring Service --Disconnect this p roduct from t he w all outlet and all power
sources including battery, and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the
following conditions:
a.When the p lug is damaged.
b. If a ny liquid has been spilled onto, or o bjects have fallen into, the p roduct.
c. If t he p roduct has been exposed to rain or w ater.
d. If t he p roduct does not operate normally even ifyou follow the o perating instructions.
Adjust only those controls that are c overed by the o peration instructions. Improper
adjustment of o ther controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work
by a qualified technician to restore the p roduct to its normal operation.
e. If t he p roduct has been dropped or t he c abinet has been damaged.
f. When the p roduct exhibits a distinct change inperformance. This indicates aneed for
service.
26Replacement Parts --When replacement parts are r equired, be sure the s ervice technician
has used replacement parts that are s pecified by Canon or t hat have the s ame
characteristics as the o riginal part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric
shock or o ther hazards.
27Safety Check-- Upon completion of a ny service or r epairs to this product, ask the s ervice
technician to perform safety checks to determine that the p roduct is insafe operating order.
This product isnot intended to be serviced. Should the p roduct cease to function inits
intended manner, itshould be returned to the m anufacturer or b e discarded.
