TheCallerIDfeatureofthisFAX/MFC letsyouusetheCallerIDsubscriber s mwice
offered bymanylocalphonecompanies.Thisservice p rovides y ou,bymeansof
thescreendisplay,_ thename ortelephone numberofyourcallerasthelinerings.
After t worings,thescreendisplays t hetelephone numberofyourcaller(orname,
ifavailable).Once Nu pickupthe handset,theCallerIDinformation disappears
fromthescreen, b ut thecallinformation remainsstoredin theCallerIDmemor},:
• Youwillseethefirst 16characters ofthe numberorname.
• OUT-OF-AP@:A displaymeans call originatesoutsideyourCallerIDservicearea.
• PRBATE CALL displaymeans the callerhas intentionallyblocked
transmissionof information.
• CALL P ICKUP d isplayremainsonscreenwhennoCallerIDinformation was
transmitted.
Ifboththename andnumberare received, thescreendisplays o nlythename.
Youcanprint a listofCallerIDinformation received b yyourFAX/MFC.
CallerIDservice varies withdifferent c arriers.Callyourlocalphonecompany to
determine w hatkindofservice isavailable in yourarea.
CallerIDmemory storesinformation for up to thirty calls;when the thirty-first
call comesin, information about the first call is erased. Youcan scrollthrough
CallerIDinformation to reviewthose callsmade to your FA_'CJMFC.
