2. Driving the Scanner Motor (M2) and the Mirror Motor (M3)
Figure 3-402 is a block diagram showing the drive circuit used for the scanner motor (M2) and
the mirror motor (M3). These motors are 4-phase stepping motors.
The pulse signals used to drive the motors (MIRRA, MIRRA*, MIRRB, MIRRB*) are gener-
ated by Q300 of the DC controller PCB; on the other hand, the motor select signal (MIRRCOM,
SCNCOM) is generated by Q300 and Q303.
The motor selected by the motor select signal is controlled for direction and speed by the pulse
signals from Q300.
