Removing the Terminator or Existing Processor

In this topic you decide between removing the terminator(s) or an existing
processor module.
If your system has one processor module and you are installing an
additional processor, remove the terminator as described in the next section
"Removing the Terminator."
If you are upgrading an existing processor or processors, remove the
existing processors as described in section "Removing a Processor Module
and VRM."
Removing the Terminator
If your system has at least one processor module, there are terminators installed in
all remaining slots. You must remove a terminator for each new processor before
installing an additional processor module into the next available slot.
1. Loosen the thumbscrew and open the access cover to the processor slots.
See Figure 1-4.
Both sides of the processor cage have covers and thumbscrews.
