Chapter 2
Use only processor module upgrade kits with the same HP product
number. This ensures the processor type, thermal heat sink, clock speed,
and cache size will match, and all processor module clock speeds are
compatible.
l
Install processors in consecutive order, that is, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Ensure the VRM is installed in the proper slot with the respective
processor module associated with it. For example, the processor module in
slot 2 must have a VRM installed in VRM slot 2.
CAUTION
Do not remove the processor module from its sealed antistatic
bag until you are ready to install it. Ensure the bags remains
sealed until the proper time.
Before removing a processor module from its antistatic bag,
touch a grounded, unpainted metal surface on the NetServer to
discharge electrostatic energy.

Processor Installation

Do not set the processor speed switches to a different speed from the one labeled
on the processor, as this can result in unreliable or intermittent performance, and
data integrity may also be at risk.
