3. Save all terminators for future use.
4. If adding more processor modules, repeat Steps 2 and 3 for each new
processor.
Removing a Processor Module and VRM
If you are upgrading an existing processor, you must first remove the existing
processor module and its respective VRM.
1. Rotate the retaining latches to release the processor module.
2. Remove the desired processor module from the slot and place it on
antistatic surface. See Figure 2-6.
3. Identify the VRM for the respective processor module. See Figure 2-1.
For example, if you remove processor 1, you must remove VRM 1.
4. Open the retaining latches of the desired VRM.
5. Lift the VRM out of the slot. See Figure 2-6.
6. Ensure you keep the processor module with its associated VRM.
7. If upgrading more processor modules, repeat Steps 1–6 for each existing
processor module and its VRM.
