When the format operation completes successfully, the Format complete message is displayed
(see
Figure 25
on page 71). If the specified volser has already been used, an error message is
displayed to notify you (see
due to an error condition, the Format check error message is displayed. If the format operation
did not complete successfully, one of the following error messages is displayed (see

on page 71) (n = system error code):
Open error! (n): Open process error on specified volume.
Seek error! (n): Seek process error on specified volume.
Read error! (n): Read process error on specified volume.
Write error! (n): Write process error on specified volume.
Close error! (n): Close process error on specified volume.

When you are finished formatting OPEN-x volumes for use as FXoto volumes, click Close to close
the Format panel and exit the FMT utility.
IMPORTANT:
When the message Format check error is indicated, the formatting operation has not started and the
original condition has been kept. When another message is indicated, the formatting process has
already started. The data on the volume has already been initialized. Remove the error condition and
format the volume again.
If you execute over the maximum number of cylinders on Windows 2003, the message Format failed
... Format check error appears after about 1 minute. It should be clear when formatting has completed.
