Printer Idle
When the printer is idle, the icon looks like it does during printing, but without the
progress bar. The icon also shows if the Paper Cassette has paper in it and whether
the Paper Cassette is missing.
Information to Keep in Mind
When the Windows Printing System has an information message, the window's
icon blinks to get your attention, and shows the
eventually will require your attention.
To read the message text, restore the icon to full-size. For details about
information messages refer to "Getting Messages", later in this chapter.
Attention Required
When the Printer Status Window displays an exclamation mark, the window
automatically opens to full-size. You can, however, minimize the window to an
"!"
icon, showing the that identifies an alert.
Make the Printer Status Window an icon when you need information from an open
application behind the Printer Status Window. You may, for example, want to check
Print Manager to see what other print jobs are in the print queue. Even if you
minimize the alert, you won't be able to resume printing until you take the action
specified in the full-size window or on the Front Panel of the printer.

Pause, Resume, Force, Delete, and Test
You can use the Printer Status Window to pause, resume, or delete the document
currently printing.
Printer Status Window
The printer Status Window has buttons to pause, resume, or delete a print job.
Alternatively, you can choose the Pause, Resume, Force print job, Delete, and issue
a Test command from the Job menu in the Printer Status Window:
To temporarily halt printing of the current document, select Pause.
The Windows Printing System finishes printing the current page, but won't print
any more pages until you select the Resume button.
