    Guidelines for selecting and storing print media When selecting or loading paper, envelopes, or other print materials, keep these guidelines in mind: • Always use print media that conform with the specifications listed on page 5.3. • Attempting to print on damp, curled, wrinkled, or torn paper can cause paper jams and poor print quality.

    Locate the long strip of glass (LSU) inside the top of the cartridge compartment, and gently swab the glass to see if dirt turns the white cotton black. Reinsert the toner cartridge and close the front cover. Plug in the power cord and turn the printer on. Printing a cleaning sheet If you are experiencing blurred, faded, or smeared printouts, you can clear the problem by printing a cleaning sheet, provided by your printer.

There are several predefined watermarks that come with the printer, and they can be modified, or you can add new ones to the list.

    Using Windows PostScript Driver If you want to use the PostScript driver provided with your system CD-ROM to print a document. PPDs, in combination with the PostScript driver, access printer features and allow the computer to communicate with the printer.     • Configuring Printer Properties • Printing a Document Getting Started The supplied CD-ROM provides you with Samsung’s Unified Linux Driver package for using your machine with a Linux computer. After the driver is installed on your Linux system, the driver package allows you to monitor a number of machine devices via fast ECP parallel ports and USB simultaneously.

    Configurator Double-click Unified Driver Configurator on the desktop. You can also click the Startup Menu icon and select Samsung Unified Driver and then Unified Driver Configurator. Press each button on the Modules pane to switch to the corresponding configuration window.

    To abort the current job, click Cancel. Printing Files You can print many different types of files on the Samsung machine device using the standard CUPS way - directly from the command line interface. The CUPS lpr utility allows you do that.

    Double-click the Printer folder. Double-click the Samsung SPL2 Installer icon. Enter the password and click OK. The Samsung SPL Installer window opens. Click Continue and then click Continue. Select Easy Install and click Install. After the installation is finished, click Quit.
