All buttons open another dialog box. Choosing the OK button will return you to
the Setup dialog box to change its settings, go to another dialog box, or close the
Setup dialog box.
Multiple Copies
In the Multiple Copies group box, select from 1 to 99 copies. This tells the
Windows Printing System to send one copy of the print job to the printer, and then
make copies of each page. In contrast, setting copies in your application's Print
dialog box tells the application to send so many copies of the entire job to the
printer.
This difference means that the Windows Printing System prints copies faster than
your application. For this reason, use the Windows Printing System – not your
application – to set copies.
As another benefit, you'll always get the exact number of copies you specify. Many
applications ignore the application setting and use only the copies set with the
Windows Printing System. If you specify three copies in the application Print
dialog box and two copies in the Setup dialog box, some applications use both
numbers. So these same settings – three copies in the application and two in the
Setup dialog box – will produce five copies. To avoid such surprises, always leave
copies set to 1 in the application, and specify multiple copies with the Windows
Printing System.
If you specify more than one copy with the Windows Printing System, you can
choose whether to collate the copies:
Select Collated to print separate copies of your document with all the pages in
order.
You get all the pages in order, one after the other, for one complete copy,
then the next complete copy, and so on.
Select Uncollated to print all copies of the first page, all copies of the second
page, and so on for each page in the document.
