Configuring FICON

Deleting FICON Files

To view the latest FICON information, you must click Refresh. See the

Note" section on page 23-15
To delete a FICON file, follow these steps:
From Device Manager, choose FICON > VSANs. You see the FICON VSANs/Files dialog box.
Step 1
Click the Files tab.
Step 2
Click anywhere in the row for the file you want to delete.
Step 3
Click Delete to delete the file.

Copying FICON Files

The SAN-OS software maintains different configuration files to support a FICON network. These
configuration files can be saved using Device Manager. FICON configuration files do not contain the
following information that is normally saved with the running configuration:

FICON configuration files are independent of these parameters. Instead, this information is stored in
persistent storage as they can be modified independent of the startup configuration.
To copy a FICON file, follow these steps:
From Device Manager, choose FICON > VSANs. You see the FICON VSANs/Files dialog box.

Click the Files tab.
Step 2
Click to highlight the row for the file you want to copy.

Port Swapping

The port swap FICON feature is only provided for maintenance purposes and is supported in all switches
in the Cisco MDS 9000 Family support this feature.
