Connecting an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV box To connect an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV box: • Connect one end of a 75-Ohm, coaxial cable to the RF jack on the back of the TV, then connect the other end of the cable to the antenna or cable TV wall jack.
Making connections Connecting a camcorder or game console Note: If your game console has an HDMI connection, you will get better quality using the HDMI connection instead of the AV connection. To connect a camcorder or game console: • Connect one end of a standard AV cable into the AV2 IN jacks on the side of the TV, then connect the other end of the cable to the AV OUT jacks on the camcorder or game console.
Connecting an S-Video device Note: The AV1 VIDEO and S-VIDEO jacks share the same L and R AUDIO jacks. To connect an S-Video device: 1 Connect one end of an S-Video cable (not included) to the S-VIDEO jack on the back of the TV, then connect the other end of the cable to the S-VIDEO OUT jack on the S-Video device.

Connecting an audio amplifier You can connect the TV to an audio amplifier to play the TV audio through external speakers.

Understanding the basics Setup menu Parental Controls Channel menu Notes: Depending on the signal source selected, you may see different options on your screen. The above menus are shown in TV mode. Menu items that are not selectable are grayed out. Menus in this manual are described in TV mode, unless otherwise indicated.
Digital sub-channels A digital TV signal transmits more data than an analog signal. This increase in data provides a better picture and sound with less static and interference. The increased data capacity also lets broadcasters fit several channels into the same bandwidth as an analog signal. Broadcasters may use these sub-channels to transmit a variety of information, such as weather forecasts, foreign languages, and commercials.

Changing channel settings Playing TV audio only You can turn off the picture on your TV and listen to only the program audio. To play only the TV audio: 1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 2 Press or to highlight Setup, then press . The Setup menu opens.

Changing channel settings Setting up a favorite channel list You can create a favorite channel list so you can quickly browse through your favorite channels by pressing FAVORITE, then selecting a channel from the favorite channel list. To set up the favorite channel list: 1 Press MENU.

Checking the DTV signal strength You can check the DTV signal strength to determine if you need to adjust your antenna or digital cable input.
