5. Under version, cick the RIP version you want to use, 1 or 2. If you select version 2, see
2 Notes.
6. If you selected RIP version 2, you may enable authentication by selecting the Enable
Authentication check box.
7. Enter the Authentication Key that will encrypt RIP updates and shared with other version 2 devices.
8. Enter the Key ID value to be shared with other version 2 devices in the Key ID value box.
9. To return to the previous panel click one of the following buttons:
OK—Accepts changes and returns to the previous panel.
Cancel—Discards changes and returns to the previous panel.
Help—Provides more information.
Deleting RIP Interface Configurations
Follow these steps to delete RIP configurations from interfaces:
1. Select an interface from the RIP Table by selecting the interface in the Interface list.
2. Click Delete.
Applying Changes to the PIX Firewall
Changes to the table made by Add, Edit, or Delete are not immediately applied to the running PIX Firewall
configuration. You must click on one of the following buttons to apply or discard changes:
1. Apply to PIX—Sends changes made in PDM to the PIX Firewall unit and applies them to the running
configuration. Use the
failover standby PIX Firewall unit. See
2. Reset—Discards changes and reverts the panel to the information displayed when it was opened or the last
time Refresh was clicked while open.
