Installing and Replacing Other Components
On a security platform with two active power supplies installed, both
power supplies should be turned on for load sharing and redundancy.

Replacing the Management NIC

To replace the four-port Ethernet management NIC, you need:
Physical access to the appliance
A Phillips-head screwdriver
A replacement management NIC and accompanying documentation
Warning
Make sure that you turn off power to the unit before you attempt to
remove the management NIC. Failure to do so could cause electric shock
with burns or death resulting to the user.
To remove the Ethernet management NIC
1. Use Network Voyager or the CLI halt command to perform an orderly
shutdown of the appliance.

2. After the system shuts down, press the power switch, located on each
power supply at the back of the appliance to turn off power to the
appliance.
Note
Make sure you turn off both power supplies.
3. Disconnect the Ethernet cables from the ports on the management NIC.
