General Troubleshooting Information
3. Create the new default configuration.
Do Not Get a Login Prompt—Error Messages Appear
Problem The appliance is defective, or the file system on the appliance is
defective.
Solution Contact the Nokia customer support site listed in
"Nokia Contact
Information"
on page 3.
Note
Use the full installation procedure to install a new system. The new
system completely replaces the contents of the drive and might be
needed to restore or reload an IP2255 appliance. This procedure erases
any configuration database on the appliance. For information about how
to complete the full installation procedure, see the current release notes.
The release notes are located on the Nokia customer support Web site as
listed in the
"Nokia Contact Information"
on page 3.
Not Able to Connect to Nokia Network Voyager by Using the
Ethernet Port, But Console Access Works
Problem Using the wrong Ethernet cable.
Solution Use a crossover Ethernet cable if you are connecting directly to
the computer. Use a straight-through cable if you are connecting to a hub. For
cabling information, see
"10/100 Ethernet NIC Connectors and Cables"
on
page 61.
Problem Port is not configured as active.
Solution View the port by using the CLI show interfaces command, and
verify that the interface is configured as active.
