3.5 Command Formats

Level III commands on the CLD-V5000 are expressed as ÒCommand MnemonicsÓ, so
they are easy to remember. ÒCommand MnemonicsÓ are also used for Level III control
of the CLD-V2800, CLD-V2600, CLD-V2400, LD-V8000, LD-V4400; the LD-V2200,
& LD-V4200 (discontinued models), the LC-V330 Autochanger, as well as for the LD-
V4100 (PAL player); CLD-V2300D and the LD-V4300D (NTSC/PAL players). Some
commands are preceded by an ÒargumentÓ expressed as an integer. These may
indicate a specific ÒaddressÓ location on the disc or set function parameters.
Command Mnemonic
alphabetic characters, representing the command mnemonic. There is no
distinction between uppercase letters and lowercase letters. Example: PL (Play);
Pl (Play); pl (Play).
Argument
ÑAn argument is expressed in ASCII digits and it is placed before the
command. When a command requiring an argument has no argument, an error
(E06) is returned. An argument consists of either an address or an integer:
1) An Address
Ñ The address can be a frame, time, or chapter number (LDs) or time,
