fsav options target ...
Description
fsav is a program that scans files for viruses and other mali-
cious code. fsav scans specified targets (files or directories)
and reports any maliciouscode it detects. Optionally, fsav
disinfects, renames or deletes infected files.
The types of viruses F-Secure Anti-Virus detects anddisin-
fects include but are not limited to: Linux viruses, macro
viruses infecting Microsoft Office files, Windows viruses and
DOS file viruses. F-Secure Anti-Virus can also detect spy-
ware, adware and other riskware (in selected products).
fsav can scan files inside ZIP, ARJ, LHA, RAR, GZIP, TAR,
CAB and BZ2 archives and MIME messages. F-Secure
Anti-Virus utilizes three scanners to scan files: F-Secure Cor-
poration Orion and Libra scan engines and Kaspersky Lab
AVP scan engine.
fsav requires the fsavd scanner deamon to scan files. fsav
uses UNIX domain sockets to communicate with the daemon.
If fsavd is not running, fsav launches fsavd before the scan.
