  • Page 7: Before Starting The Installation

    Make sure the steering wheel adjustment is fully UP and IN to allow maximum clearance for the driver seat. When installing the LINK with hand controls, hand controls should be installed after the LINK. Remove the driver side OEM seat and place on a workbench to be able to remove all the plastic trims, also remove the seat belt receiver.

  • Page 9 5. Unclip the seat cushion support and fan, pass it out through the back of the seat, along with the seat thigh adjustment pad (if present). 6. Remove the seat back, keep the OEM bolts for reinstallation. LINK Ford Expedition 2018 & UP driver side-p.5...
  • Page 10 7. Remove the left hand seat trim support, keep for re-installation. Remove the seat pan, and also remove the seat control box bracket, located on the underside of the seat pan. LINK Ford Expedition 2018 & UP driver side-p.6...
  • Page 11 10. Run the power from the battery to the LINK. To do this, thread the red power cable (+) under the doorstep molding and through the firewall. Make sure you pass through a grommet in the firewall to prevent the cable from chaffing.

  • Page 14 OEM bolts. 14. The b pillar trim will have to be cut and modified with the provided stencil to allow clearance for the LINK. To remove the trim you will also have to unbolt the seat belt. Modify as per the photos and then re-install.

  • Page 17 18. Place the LINK in the vehicle on the floor adapters. Use the four longer (3/8’’-16 x 1¼’’) socket cap bolts to secure the LINK by the pivot, and use the four shorter (3/8’’-16 x 7/8’’) bolts to secure the interior of the LINK.
  • Page 18 Be sure to attach the unused motor wires in the seat. The seat back can now be reinstalled onto the LINK along with the seat cushion support, and thigh adjustment pad. Pay specific attention to firmly fastening the harness where it exits the seat back.

  • Page 20 24. Before reinstalling the seat cushion, cut a slot in the middle of the fabric flab at the back of the cushion. Attach the fabric flap under the seat.   • Page 22 28. The left hand side plastic trim will have to be cut modified before reinstallation to allow clearance at the pivot of the LINK. The replacement trim # LK-EXP18LB-07 will have to be installed onto it, using the provided trim clips.

  • Page 25 LINK be exactly at the ‘HOME’ position before moving on to the next step. If the LINK is slightly off its ‘HOME’ position or the starting point of its movements, there is a strong chance that the LINK will not fit through the doorway properly and/or will cause problems with the preset of the LINK.
  • Page 26 34. Now that the LINK is in its ‘HOME’ position, RESET the unit by pressing ‘CONFIRM RESET’. A screen will pop up to ask: ‘ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO RESET ZERO POSITION’. Press ‘ACCEPT’. The LINK will emit two (2) audible beeps to confirm ‘RESET’, and will now be in reduced power mode. In pendant mode, run one full cycle to exit reduced power mode.
