You may need the following items to perform the procedures in this section:
• Key to the system keylock
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• T10 Torx driver
• Small flat-blade screwdriver
• Wrist grounding strap

Inside the System

CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
CAUTION:
The memory modules can become extremely hot during normal operation. Allow the modules
sufficient time to cool before handling.
In Figure 3-1, the bezel, system cover, and memory cooling shroud are removed to provide an interior view
of the system.
