THE VEHICLE IN EXTREME CONDI-
TIONS OR ON DUSTY AND OR MUDDY
ROADS.

Chain clearance check (04_50)

To check the slack:
•
Stop the engine.
•
Place the vehicle on the stand.
•
Check that vertical oscillation at
the middle point between pinion
and crown on the lower part of
the chain is of about 1.10 ÷
1.18 in (28 ÷ 30 mm).
•
Move the vehicle forward so as
to check vertical oscillation in
other positions too. The slack
should remain constant during
all wheel rotation phases.
If the clearance is even, but higher or
lower than 1.10 -1.18 in (28-30 mm), ad-
just it as required.
IMPORTANT
IF THE SLACK IS GREATER IN SOME
POSITIONS THIS MEANS THAT SOME

Contrôle du jeu de la chaîne
(04_50)
Pour contrôler le jeu :
•
Arrêter le moteur.
•
Positionner le véhicule sur la bé-
quille.
•
Contrôler que l'oscillation verti-
cale, en un point intermédiaire
entre le pignon et la couronne
dans le maillon inférieur de la
chaîne, est d'environ 1.10 - 1.18
in (28 - 30 mm).
•
Déplacer le véhicule en avant,
de façon à contrôler aussi l'os-
cillation verticale de la chaîne
dans d'autres positions ; Le jeu
doit rester constant dans toutes
les phases de rotation de la
roue.
