Heater Placement and Suspension

Improper suspension of the tube heater may result in collapse and being crushed. Always
suspend from a permanent part of the building structure that can evenly support the total
force and weight of the heater.
Failure to maintain minimum clearances to combustibles may result in fire and/or explosion,
property damage, serious injury, or death. Always maintain minimum clearances and post
clearance safety limit signs or the clearance safety tag where needed.
Suspension of the heater must conform to applicable codes referenced in the Safety section and these
instructions.
Mark locations for hanging points.
1
Prepare mounting surface. If necessary, weld blocks and drill holes.
2
Fasten beam clamp, screw hook, or other type of suspension anchor to hanging point.
3
Attach and close stainless steel S-hook and 1/0 stainless steel bulldog chain to anchor (see Fig. 3.9).
4
Check that it is securely attached. NOTE: Threaded rod or optional hanging bracket kit may be used.
Attach stainless steel S-hooks to turnbuckles (P/N: DS-TB sold separately) and hanging bolts inserted
5
through the hanging brackets. Adjust chain lengths until heater is level and equal weight distribution is
achieved.
Once heater is level, insert egg crate assemblies by sliding in the reflector, 2 from each end (see Fig.
6
3.11 on page 17).
Follow instructions on page 17 to install end panels.
